Grand Corps Malade was the alias of French knocker and urban poet Fabien Marsaud, a intersection of Paris' problematic northern suburb Seine-Saint-Denis natural July 31, 1977. A diving stroke suffered on his 20th birthday left Marsaud for good handicapped, inspiring the Grand Corps Malade sobriquet -- rough translated, the name agency "Large Sick Body" -- and forcing upon him the ubiquitous crutch that would become a key signature element of his stage act. Upon discovering "slam poetry" in 2003, Marsaud began committal to writing autobiographic rhyme and entry readings at the Parisian bar Collectif 129H. A quaker later suggested he set his poems to music, and in early 2006 he issued the first Grand Corps Malade LP, MIDI 20, a game assemblage decrying the racialism, poverty, and isolation endemic throughout suburban Paris. The disk proven an unexpected megahit, selling in excess of ccc,000 copies in less than six months and vaulting Marsaud to national ill fame.

Diddy Denies Rumors Of Romance With Cameron Diaz
Rapper and music mogul Sean 'Diddy' Combs has laughed off rumours that he is dating Hollywood actress Cameron Diaz, saying that the pair are "just friends".
Combs and Diaz were spotted together at a New York hot spot last month, and were seen paired up again at Sunday night's ( 1 June) MTV Movie Awards in California.
However, Combs insists their friendship is purely innocent.
"It is ridiculous that two celebrities of the opposite sex can't just hang out with a group of friends without it being reported as more than that," the New York Daily News.
"We are just friends."

Campaigning rockers challenge Sarkozy over Africa
The U2 frontman and the former Boomtown Rats singer, who played an active role in the Live 8 concerts in support of aid and debt relief ahead of the summit, said failure by G8 leaders to keep their promises to the world's poorest was "a disgrace".
The G8 had agreed at Gleneagles, Scotland, in 2005 to double aid to Africa by 2010. But according to a report by advocacy group DATA launched by the rockers in Paris on Wednesday, the G8 has so far delivered just 14 percent of what was pledged.
"It's a disgrace that the rich world, France included, has failed so utterly and miserably," Geldof told a news conference.
The DATA report says France is among the worst performers, having decreased aid to sub-Saharan Africa by $66 million between 2006 and 2007, and so far delivered less than 7 percent of funds promised at Gleneagles.
"That's the measure of the failure of the political class of this country," said Geldof.
The DATA report says that of the seven countries that made commitments to Africa at Gleneagles, only Italy is doing worse than France with a net decrease in aid since 2005. The best performer is Japan, which has already fulfilled its pledges.
Geldof and Bono said it was particularly shocking for France to fall back considering its strong relationship with many African countries, rooted in the colonial past, and its history since the Revolution of 1789 as a champion of human rights.

Originally conceived by guitarists T.U. (musical rhythm) and J.S. (atomic number 82) in 1995, Finland's Shape of Despair combined the doom/death effectual of early-'90s pioneers like Paradise Lost and Anathema with the synthesizer-laced, panoramic tyke metallic element popularized in the late '90s by Tiamat and Moonspell. Initially career themselves Raven, the group remained a sporadic fancy at topper, lento composing corporeal all over the next few geezerhood, which they would finally assemble into a long-form demonstration by 1998. In order to avoid beingness at sea with New Wave of British Heavy Metal stars Raven, they besides adopted the Shape of Despair diagnose at this time. Featuring "uninfected" female vocals from N.S. and growling courtesy of Azhemin (on loan from Thy Serpent), the tape attracted Spinefarm Records, which promptly signed the band and returned them to Helsinki's Hellhole studios, where they re-recorded the material with onetime drummer, like a shot vocalizer T.M. and modern skinsman S.R. Released with the title Shades of..., it confirmed the group's standing as 1 of their country's more than hopeful modern acts of the Apostles and light-emitting diode to a allot with America's Relapse Records. Boasting guest vocals from none other than Amorphis legend Pasi Koskinen and extra sonic colouring from fiddler Toni Raehalme; the resulting Angels of Distress was released in 2001.
Protesters attack MTV office in Mumbai, India over massage poster
MUMBAI, India - Police arrested 70 Sikh protesters after the MTV music channel's office in western India was vandalized over posters showing a Sikh girl massaging a man, officials said Tuesday.
On Monday, protesters smashed windows with rocks, tore banners and damaged furniture in the MTV office in Mumbai, India's financial and entertainment capital, police inspector Raju More said.
The protesters said the posters, which promoted the reality show "On the Job2," offended Sikhs, More said. Sikhs comprise more than 2 per cent of India's 1.1 billion people.
Police later released the protesters on bail, he said.
Satish Maneshinde, MTV's attorney in Mumbai, called it an unfortunate incident. He said no one was injured in the attack.
Maneshinde said MTV would consider the protesters' demands to remove the posters.

Glastonbury headliners revealed
Following months of speculation, in which Radiohead, Bruce Springsteen and Led Zeppelin were rumoured to play on the Pyramid stage, the headliners were finally disclosed yesterday.
Kings of Leon will headline on Friday night; Jay Z on Saturday; and The Verve will close the festival on Sunday evening.
Other acts also confirmed to play are CSS, Neil Diamond and Hot Chip. The Guardian is also reporting that Leonard Cohen will perform on stage for the first time in 14 years.
Of the headliners, organiser Emily Eavis said: "We're absolutely thrilled to have them. The Verve are a classic Glastonbury band who've played some amazing sets at the festival over the years. Now that they're back together again, playing brilliant shows, we've finally got them doing the headline slot that they always deserved. I can't wait."
She continued: "Jay-Z is coming all the way over from New York especially to play the festival. It's a real coup for us. He might seem like a slightly unusual choice for Glastonbury, but we've never just gone for the obvious acts and we're so honoured to have one of the most talented and respected musicians on the planet coming to the farm. He's an amazing artist and an incredible live act. I think he's going to blow people away."
She added: "That leaves Kings of Leon. They've come through the ranks at Glastonbury since they rocked the New Bands Tent in 2003. We think they're one of the most exciting live bands out there right now and that they're ready to make the leap to join a great heritage of Friday night headliners which includes Coldplay and White Stripes."
The full line-up for the Festival will be announced in June with the three-day event taking place from 27 to 29 June.
Fans who want one of the 137,500 tickets on offer must provide contact details and a passport photo in order to receive a registration number.
The number does not guarantee entry to the festival at Worthy Farm in Pilton, however fans will not be able to buy a ticket without one.
They have until Friday 14 March to register their interest via the festival's website. Tickets will then go on sale on Sunday 6 April.
Man Declares Himself Eddy Arnolds Son
A man in California has come forward purporting to be the son of late music legend EDDY ARNOLD - and is seeking a DNA test to prove it.
Arnold, dubbed the Tennessee Plowboy, died on 8 May (08) at the age of 89 and now Christopher Edward Tanner has staked a claim to his fortune, insisting he is the product of a fling between the country legend and his mother Arlene Tanner-Glynn.
Tanner has filed papers at Davidson County Chancery Court asking for Arnold's body to be exhumed in order for DNA testing to take place - which would prove whether the singer was his father or not.
The 47-year-old insists Arnold and his family were aware of his extistence and that he deserves a share of the inheritance.
However, Bryan Howard, an attorney for Arnold's estate, has cast doubt on Tanner's claims - branding the timing of his announcement suspicious.
He tells TMZ.com, "For one thing, what we've been told is that the petitioner is 47 years old, and it's pretty suspect that someone who really thought Eddy Arnold was his father would wait 47 years."

Leon Jackson: 'Cheryl Cole Will be Fantastic On The X Factor'
X Factor winner Leon Jackson thinks Cheryl Cole will be a hit as Sharon Osbourne's
">replacement on the hit ITV show.
The Scottish singer, who won last year's series of the TV talent contest, was given two hugs from the Girls Aloud star to calm his nerves during the show.
Jackson reckons Cole, who started filming for the show in London yesterday, will offer help and hugs to the group she'll be mentoring as part of her role.
He tells Scotland's Daily Record newspaper, "I think Cheryl will be fantastic on The X Factor, she's a great addition to the judging panel.
"I met Cheryl when she was a guest mentor with me on the program last year and she was really lovely.
"She gave me some great advice about the industry and even said she had voted for me.
"She's got a big heart and will be perfect for the acts she is mentoring. It can be nerve-wracking and she'll do all she can to help."
Leon was an 18-year-old shop worker when he had to sing in front of Girls Aloud in November last year.
After the performance, Cheryl told him, "It's a horrible feeling.
"I watch you every week and you're amazing but when you try to talk to the judges, your lips always stick together. I always really feel for you."
